Arsenal 4-0 Standard Liege: Gabriel Martinelli scores twice in rout

Gabriel Martinelli scored two goals and set up another as a greatly plotted Arsenal side turned to thrash Standard Liege 4-0 in their Europa League Group F meeting in the Emirates Stadium.
Teenager Martinelli, a #6m signing from side Ituano during the summer, opened the scoring with a great header after 13 minutes and then netted his second having a low, curling end just three minutes later, which makes it four goals from two matches following his dual against Nottingham Forest at the Carabao Cup.
Joe Willock struck Arsenals third goal (22) after a shot against fellow academy graduate Reiss Nelson deflected into his path inside the Standard Liege box, together with Dani Ceballos completing the scoring in the second half, poking Martinellis deft cross on the line to get his first goal for the club (57).
Unai Emerys negative missed a collection of chances to extend their lead in the closing stages, however, the victory is another step towards the Europa League knockout stages following the 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their opening group game.
